Domain Name & SSL Policy

This agreement is between ello group trading as VPSnodes.net (herein referred to as “We” or “Us” or “Our”) and You as the Customer (herein referred to as “You” or “Your” or “Customer” or “Client”) regarding the hosting Services we operate.
The use of “Account” or “Accounts” or “Package” or “Packages” or “Service” or “Services” herein refer to our web hosting, business hosting, reseller hosting and VPS hosting products.

We reserve the right to amend, add or remove Terms & Conditions at any given time from all of our agreements and documents, and You shall obey to the current (published) version. You should check this page regularly for changes to Your agreement.

This agreement/policy is an extension to Our Terms & Conditons as viewed here, and is seperated for ease of access. Our Terms & Conditions apply in addition to those terms outlined in this policy/agreement.

1. Domain Names

1.1 Domain name registration

Registering any domain name through ello group acknowledges You are giving Us permission to register an untaken domain name on your behalf. You agree that Your name, postal address, e-mail address and telephone number (or such details of Your company or organisation) will be publicly viewable via a WHOIS lookup. We take these details from the Billing & Support area of ello group; You are required to keep Your details accurate and up-to-date at all times. Failure to do so may result in Your domain name being suspended. Should these details change at any time, You are obliged to update them within the Billing & Support area, then contact us immediately to request that Your domain WHOIS details are updated accordingly.

1.2 WHOIS privacy protection

We are able to offer “WHOIS Privacy Protection” to personal (home) users on some TLDs (i.e. .com, .co.uk, .net). If WHOIS Privacy Protection is selected, some or all of Your personal details such as contact name, postal address, e-mail address and telephone number will be excluded from Our WHOIS database. Instead, details of ello group will be in place in the WHOIS database for Your domain; any e-mails, letters and telephone calls we receive on your behalf will therefore be forwarded on to You.

1.3 Registration length and expiry information

We allow the registration or renewal of domain names for a regular period of 1 year (365 days), with the exception of .uk domain names which are registered or renewed for a minimum of 2 years (730 days). Domain names will expire on the last day of Your registered period. Should You fail to renew Your domain name during its registered period, the domain name will then enter a retention deadlock period to prevent others from immediately registering this domain should You wish to re-register it. This retention period lasts for approximately 35 days for most domain names, except .uk, of which the retention period is 60 days. Should You wish to re-register your expired domain name during the retention period, there may be an additional (variable) administration fee applicable, in addition to the regular renewal cost. Once a domain name has passed the retention period, We have no control over the domain as it becomes a publicly ‘unregistered’ domain name. Should You wish to attempt to re-registration a domain name that has passed the retention period, You may do this via regular domain name registration, however there are no guarantees You will be able to retain the domain name.

We make every effort to notify You of the domain names You have with us that are soon to expire; as such, we send e-mails to the registered address in our Billing & Support area 45, 30, 15 and 5 days in advance to the domain name expiring. We accept no liability for expired domain names should You miss these e-mails, if they fail to deliver, if they are flagged as spam and You do not personally receive them, and such like.

1.4 Domain name renewal

Renewing or transferring any domain name to ello group acknowledges You are giving Us permission to renew a domain name You already own on Your behalf. Should Your name, postal address, e-mail address and telephone number (or such details of Your company or organisation) change at any time, You are obliged to update them within the Billing & Support area, then contact Us immediately and request that Your domain WHOIS details are updated accordingly.

1.5 Control of DNS, WHOIS and other features

When You register, renew or transfer a domain name with Us, by default this domain name will be configured to use Our own nameservers (ns1.clustereddns.net and ns2.clustereddns.net and ns3.clustereddns.net). With this configuration, You may alter, arrange and edit the DNS records for Your domain name from within Our support & billing area at https://my.ellogroup.com. If You have a hosting Service with Us, You may request that Your cPanel./WHM account is linked with Your domain name(s) to edit Your DNS settings. Should You wish to control or change anything beyond DNS, You must raise the issue with our technical support team.

1.6 60 day hold or deadlock

You acknowledge that You will not be able to change registrars of any domain name within the first 60 days of registration, renewal or transfer. This applies to all domain name renewals, and domain name transfers in to ello group.

1.7 Registrar disclaimer and general

It is important to understand We not a direct domain registrar. We work on a wholesale/reseller basis with multiple agents including ‘eNom, Inc.’ and ‘UK-2 Limited’ and ‘Internet.bs Corp.’ whereby we register and/or renew and/or transfer Your domain name(s) through one or multiples of these registrars. Should You have any disputes with Your domain name registration, You should firstly raise the dispute(s) with Us. Any disputes requiring escalations to a higher level will be done so by Us on Your behalf to the relevant domain name agent(s).

We reserve the right to refuse the registration or transfer of domain names that We deem, at our sole discretion, to be rude or offensive or objectionable.

2. SSL Certificates

1.1 SSL certificate provision

You MUST have at least one unused IPv4 address to install any SSL Certificate. We are able to provide SSL Certificates to Business Hosting and Reseller Hosting customers, as well as VPS server and dedicated server customers of ello group. It is not possible for us to provide SSL Certificates to regular Web Hosting packages/accounts of ello group. We are able to provide SSL Certificates to customers with packages/accounts on alternate hosting providers, providing Your service is SSL Certificate compatible and You have a spare IPv4 address.

1.2 SSL certificate type and security

We use SSL platforms from “GeoTrust” and “RapidSSL” and “Comodo” to provide Our SSL Certificates. All provisioned certificates feature up to 256-bit encrypted security and greater than 99% recognition by web browsers.

1.3 Support of installation, maintenance and troubleshooting

We are able to fully support all SSL Certificates provided by Us when used on Our Business Hosting or Reseller Hosting accounts. Should You self-host your SSL Certificate on a VPS or dedicated server, or if Your SSL Certificate is hosted with an alternate web hosting provider, support is offered on a best effort and complimentary basis. As such, we cannot fully guarantee to install / maintain / troubleshoot SSL Certificates hosted on alternate hosting providers or VPS or dedicated servers.
